Burlington County Jail

Pre-sentencing

Interview with Jon and tony

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Jon: I went to my first court date and saw the judge and he advised me of charges and i was able to ask to obtain a lawyer but i had no job so i applied for a public defender and got accepted so my court date was set for the next month to give me time to discuss with my lawyer.
tony: its bullsh* it takes forever, burlington is f*ed up the way they do things, if you have a public defender your guaranteed jail/prison they dont give a rats ass about you.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning?
Jon: No when i was arrested i was not at home i was in the city park with a few friends that got arested as well as me.
tony: yes and they are just as corrupted as the public defenders.

JM: What was your court appearance like?
Jon: My appearance was a little nerve racking because of not knowing what i was getting into and how the turn out would be but besides that it was laid back and easy to deal with.
tony: wait all day for nothing just to get another court date.
